Structure Fire 6/8/18
Fri. Jun 8th 2018

The South Beloit Fire Department was dispatched for a structure fire on Misty Meadow Lane on June 8th, 2018 at 4:10am. A neighbor passing by spotted the fire, called 911, then knocked on the door to wake the residents. First units on scene had heavy fire showing from the rear of the structure. Chief Davenport called for a MABAS alarm bringing in addition resources from around the area to help with the fire. After a quick exterior knockdown of the fire, crews entered the structure to attack it from the interior. Mutual aid companies arrived on scene and together crews pulled the ceiling to get to the fire that was located in the attic area of the main floor of the Tri-level home. Crews were able to stop the fire from spreading to the other levels of the home. These areas did receive smoke and water damage. The house is uninhabitable at this time.

SBFD would like to thank our dispatchers at RockCom, South Beloit Police, Beloit Fire, Rockton Fire, Harlem-Roscoe Fire, Town of Beloit Fire, North Park Fire, Cherry Valley Fire, Rockford Fire, Town of Turtle Fire, Lifeline Ambulance, ATS Ambulance and SWEPT for on scene assistance today.

We would also like to thank the fire companies that reported to our station to cover the rest of the city. Our mutual aid system works very well. Outstanding work by everyone today.
